Specialized Programs
Wycliffe also has a few programs specifically catered to those who want to serve for 1-3 years.
OneStory is a two-to three-year program that presents the gospel in the most effective form for oral cultures: through chronological oral storytelling in the heart language. Be part of a team that works to develop a set of stories with native speakers of the language and see how lives are impacted for eternity.
Wanting to “get a SIP” of what language work is like? ServeInPNG (or SIP) is for participants who are flexible and willing to serve as needed in a variety of language opportunities. After completing some linguistic training, travel to Papua New Guinea where you will get a “taste” of different language-related service opportunities as you serve in a variety of ways to further the work of Bible translation.
A partnership with Operation Mobilization and Wycliffe, Spectrum is a two year program that is divided between the organizations. Spend one year aboard the OM Ship Logos Hope serving as a crew member, living in community with others of many different nationalities, and receiving training in discipleship and evangelism. The second year is spent in a service location with Wycliffe using your skill and training in a support role (such as IT, finance, administration, etc.) or in a language role (some training required). Your role will play an important part in the Bible Translation movement and reaching the least, the last and the lost.
